Port Perry Real Estate
In 1848 Settler Peter Perry laid out village lots on the shore of Lake Scugog on the site of a former native village known as Scugog Village. The town was named Port Perry in 1852 and was incorporated as a village in 1871. Port Perry is known as a tourist destination for its picturesque, Victorian-era downtown, with many restaurants, cafés, bookstores, galleries and antique shops. Port Perry serves as the administrative and commercial centre for the Township of Scugog. Port Perry serves as a hub for many small communities in the Scugog area, such as Greenbank, Raglan, Caesarea, Blackstock and Nestleton/Nestleton Station.
Located at the basin of the Trent-Severn Waterways is Lake Scugog, one of Southern Ontario’s largest lakes. This provides a gateway to your boating adventures on the Trent-Severn Waterway. Many GTA residents have cottages in the Port Perry area, choosing not to travel hours north of Barrie. contact us today
Many call Port Perry “The prettiest town around – which is closer than you think!”
